Dutch - the leather is more like cheap shit Jeep vinyl than actual leather and crack really badly. Crack on if you've got a desire to do so. I'm sure the Haynes manual would say to disconnect the battery but I wouldn't bother personally. Just undo bolts and pull the seats out. Scrap that - if there's any chance of a seat airbag going off then best to disconnect the battery I suppose, just make sure you have any radio codes etc for when you reconnect it all back up.
