Just fitted a 2" Teraflex suspension lift to the TJ with a 1" MM lift to help with the drive line angles.

After driving it for a few miles it seems i have some minor vibrations. I know its difficult to say whats minor but the vibes are hardly noticeable but definately there..

The questions are...Will it improve as the springs settle...

Is a minor vibe acceptable, stop fussing and take it like a man..

or do i try dropping the TC a washer at a time and see how it goes...

Any advice on this gratefully received..

Trouble with vibration, even slight, is metal doesn't like it.  It causes the metal to fatigue and then cracks appear.

I'd be trying to eliminate it if I were you but I'm not that familiar with TJ's to be fair......

you will have more engine feedback through the body and stuff if you went for the polly motor mounts simply cos they are harder. you realy shouldnt have any vibes from a 2 inch lift mate. unless you have shown up a shit uj by increasing the angles. what sort of speed do the vibes apear worse?

Remember that the driveline angles will also change as you apply power. Even stock TJs can get a small amount of vibration pulling away hard in 1st. This is as the pinion tries to climb the crownwheel, tilting the axle upward (The effect that produces wheelies). The TJ has an unusually short propshaft which makes it very sensitive to changes in pinion angle in relation to the transfer case.
If you have excessive vibration all the time, and the rear UJs are good. check that the centerline of the rear diff pinion and the cenerline of the slip yoke are parallel. This is essential to eliminate torsional vibration. Do not set it up so that the pinion is pointing directly at the slip yoke unless you have an SYE installed.
If you have vibes, worse under acceleration, the pinion is pointing up slightly too much if you have bad vibes when decelerating that disappear under acceleration, it is too low. It could be that you should either remove the T/C spacers, or motor mounts, as a 2" lift would not usually require both.

                    from what i can tell the vibes are only there under mild acceleration like going uphill in 2nd when the auto box changes to 3rd it feels like its labouring (which its always done) but thats when the vibes are at their worst...
I havent messed with the pinion/slip yoke angles so i presume they should still be parallell, is that something i can check myself or do i need to take it in ?
I only have a 1" MM lift and no TC drop, is it worth putting the original MMs back first and seeing how that goes..

It might seem like ive bitten off more than i can chew but i'm keen to sort it myself if poss cos i'm actually gettin a kick out of havin a go

just fitted the currie 1" mm to ours.

No major vibes, although the guys are bang on when they say you feel the engine more, i notice it more on tickover and if you rev the engine when in neutral.

I would say that, if anything it has eliminated a knocking at the front, so maybe my original mounts were a bit dodgy, although they look intact  :?

Just got the lift to do know, looking to order it this week. Decided on the 2" Teraflex in the end, same as yours

                        i'm 99.9% mine is the motor mounts and not anythin to do with driveline...
