Does anybody know were to source either an OEM or aftermarket lower radiator hose for the WG CRD?
I have no luck with FCA Australia.

The letters at the end of parts numbers change when parts are superceded for whatever reason.

Here's one on UK ebay, don't know if they will ship to Oz though.

Might also be worth asking on http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/index.php in case anybody knows of a supplier you could source from over there.

As JJ said in his reply, AJOR might be the place to be asking the question.

Good luck.

If you really can't find one, take the old one to an exhaust specialist who can bend pipe the proper way and get them to make up the tube to the right shape but a bit shorter at each end, flare the ends so the clamps have something to hold against and use short lengths of rubber hose to join it all up. also removes the need for the spring inside the hose.
Looked into replacing the hoses on my old 3.1TD when they were still available, roughly £140 for each from Jeep! so if they had to be done thats what i was going to do.

I did manage to purchase the top hose from a French Jeep parts store (jeep stock). Though their price for the bottom hose was outrageous (149 Euros). As a last resort, I plan to join variously shaped hoses via hose connectors to resemble a shape of my existing hose or find a similarly shaped radiator hose.

Interesting that your 3.1 hoses a still the originals, how many miles on them?
I'm mainly replacing my rad hoses as well as other coolant hoses as a preventative maintenance measure (hoses still firm).

the hose quality was fine on the 3.1 unfortunately the same couldn't be said about the cylinder heads!
needing 5 new heads every 75K miles is a bit on the expensive side when they are about £200 each!
so at 135K its been parked up for 3 years and i bought a 4.7HO and spend the money on petrol instead!

Funny how even with high petrol cost and taxes for petrol 4x4's the V8 ends up being the economical option. Even in the UK!

True!
I think the problem for the WJ Jeep diesels was it was always a diesel conversion for the export market with limited sales numbers compared to the home market where I6 and V8 petrol's ruled!
You had the 3.1 VM Italian diesel for the first 18 months then they put the 2.7 CRD Merc in as Daimler AG didn't want VM when they bought Chrysler in about 1999, so they dont want to be holding parts for competitors engines, they put the prices up on the VM parts to encourage owners to not bother asking for them and maybe sell and buy a newer car with their engine in.
You now have the same problem again as Jeep are now owned by FIAT who also own VM so don't want to be holding parts for Daimler AG engines, so put the price up to £140 for a simple radiator hose!
I am thinking of buying a WK at some point but will be deferentially getting the V8 petrol even if I have to put up with the SRT8 :003: to avoid the problems you're having finding parts for the diesel model WJ.

Luckily about 80% of engine related parts(sensors, engine internals, etc) are the exact same parts used in other Benz's with the same engine (Sprinter, Ml270 CDI).
