Steering Stabilizer question
«
on:
June 20, 2006, 01:34:16 PM »
I am looking for an alternative method of mounting the steering stabilizer, the problem is that when ever I mount one in the standard place the steering arm trashes it,,,,,,,,,,just fitted a nice new procomp one today and befofe I even pulled the TJ out of the drive oil every where.
I do have a skyjacker one that I had mounted onto the axle tube but it hangs really low and will end up being damaged off roading.
Has anyone else had or having this problem?
Suggestions please.

Hey Richard, see your experiencing the same as me- nobody else seems to mind! My latest Procomp one did the same as yours and it was significantly smaller than the Black Diamond i had previously!
I've seen installs like Isel Of Man's where there the original mount has been welded & extended.
But what would be really good is a bolt on bracket;
Like the one FTE do to relocate the rear track bar on lifted RHD jeeps- very expensive for what it is but it does the job!
Anybody want to make one up & sell it over the odds?
Save having a new damper every MOT!

Had one before, it was just a flat plate tack welded onto the original mount, I do have a few trackbar brackets lying about so I will see what I can mock up.
