How do I know if my door seals are ok or not? I can hear wind noise at speed by my head, like the window is slightly open, does this mean they are shagged? I'm asking cuz I'm going on a trip across Salisbury Plain over xmas & it's going to be very very wet & I don't want water in the footwells!

Go round it with a hosepipe and see if it leaks?

I had a similar problem. Solved it by adjusting the door hinges slightly.

Yeah, I get lots of noise from above the drivers window too. Doesn't leak though. Can't hear it now anyway since THAT roofrack went on! Holy crap it's noisy!

Just in case the seals aren't up to it, what happens if too much water gets in? Is it worth striping the interior out & just leaving the front seats? What about the electric seats?

the carpets get wet LOL. the electric seats should be fitted with water tight connectors. don't know how water tight the other electrics are though

I wouldn't worry too much about getting wet feet. The top of my doors blow a gale in at speed, but I've driven through 3 feet of water with no problems (but then I am 7" higher than a stock cherry   ).

although air blows through my door seals around the top , no water gets in. In a competition once i had to park in a pond (dont ask) - water was around top of wheel arches. the door seals were fine and i was just gettig impressed with the water tightness when the water started pouring in through the passenger side door speaker. :lol: ).

there was nowhere for it to drain out ether so me n my little lad had to bail it out

that was in august and carpet is still soggy :?

mind you, whilst i was under it last weekend trowelling off this years mud i actually foung drain plugs buried under the mud. better late than never but i'll know for next time

i recon a few of you were even there. from what i gather twas similar to your turkey hunt

Has anyone replaced a door seal before??

My passenger side one has gone and although it shouldn't be a tough job, tips from anyone who has done it would help.
