sump gasket
« on: January 30, 2007, 06:54:46 PM »

I'm trying to remove the sump to change the gasket which is leaking, how the hell do you get the bloody thing off? It's loose, I've droped the axle down as far as I can but it won't wangle out. I've removed the old gasket with the sump where it is, is it possible to fit the new one as is, will it matter if it gets oily while I'm trying to get it under the oil pump? Has anyone done it? Help!

the gasket ideally should be dry and the two faces it mates to should be dry as well
