Ok, one of the most talked about areas on this forum must be that of lift kits, how high, how stiff, which make etc.

Can we jointly manage to put together the ultimate lift kit as a feature??

maybe in three catorgories, just for looks, light off roading and run over every god damn thing insight off roading?

And some top ten mods?

well it is good subject xjs are so cheap to buy they must be the most popular jeep to mod

the most popular to mod but not the easiest when fitting the first serious mods especially after years of rock salt and road crud adding their effect to bolts

It's going to be fairly subjective, a bit like tyres - everyone has they're preferences and not everyone is capable of criticising something they spent lots of cash on whether it's crap or not. Also, cost comes into it a lot, some fantastic kits are only going to be for the minority of XJ owners, if they spend £1k buying the vehicle then £2k just on suspension may not seem 'right' to some.

I have plenty of information and opinions on it though so would be quite happy to wade into the debate, who wants to get started and how? Polls, a long thread to discuss first or later?? Separated in to budget / average / loadsa money??

I have heared that even the professional modifiers are presently getting more XJs in for suspension mods than TJs and YJs. The tables have turned!

you may be right but it's the blood sweat and tears of trying to fit the lft kit and the steep learning curve whilst doing it.

mike is right and the thing is you can pick em up for jack all so they are starting to fall into the buy it and destroy it category really.

if you look around a 4ltr can be picked up for around £700 to £800 in reasonable condition, some even with mot. try and find a similar type for a cj/ tj etc

Sam i got my second Cherry the other week now saving up to lift it etc etc ... So same as you spending spending // blow the value.

i'm on my second one, TBH i'll buy another with no question. the cost just gets forgotten about except for the wife who will always remember the cost
