Ok   got my new exhaust today,  measured the cat in bore and it's the same as the one on the jeep, also the tail pipe dia is the same. the only problem i can see is it's missing the rear hanger bracket but i can get one welded on.  the exhaust i bought is for a 97 4 liter code xch3 , hope this helps anyone looking  for a pipe for a 2.5 , update when it's fitted......

They don't have a bracket. There should be a rubber mounting on the chassis behind the rear wheel with a metal hook that is clamped to the tailpipe with an exhaust clamp.

hmmm the 4ltr ones we fitted to 2.5's were slightly bigger and required extra paste and extra clamping. cool if it fits ok.

the only hanger on the 4ltr is off the end of the silencer box. the other hanger at the exhaust tip end is to the squashed rubber mount on the body. bolts are normally siezed in place and sheer. just get a hanger from halfruads and drill a bolt hole to the rear spring mount area

Fitted today,  had to cut off the rear bracket on the old pipe and weld it on the new one.  Noticed the muffler is deeper/ fatter  on the new one,  also the tail section is shorter by about a inch  the output bend is level with the spring shackle, other than that it went on like a well worn sea boot , The performance has changed it drives a lot smoother maybe the fatter muffler lets the engine breathe better? well it looks  good and I'm  :D
