« on: August 15, 2007, 10:45:36 PM »

Has anyone done a mod to allow the drivers door lock to lock and unlock all of the doors, to save having to open the door reach in and then unlock all the doors withe the switch

Im sure that i am going to lock myself out by locking the doors with the switch and leaving the keys in

Can someone help before i make a fool of myself

Nope, its already too late.

A second press of the unlock button on your fob will unlock all the other doors

Only had the car two weeks, it came with two keys and no owners manual :(

I can only asume then it should have come with a central locking key fob?

Can they be purchased and reprogramed, who much, where can i get them, what type as i asume that things change regularly, and can it be done easily

The '93 should have a wedge shaped infra red remote. They were only supplied with one of these, they are still available from dealers but are about £70. The good news is that they are simple to program in yourself once you have one.
All pre '97 XJs can use this remote, so if anyone has an alarn system that they either din't want, or don't have the key for, you can revert back to the factory remote without a problem.
