Alternative seats for a Cherokee
« on: January 10, 2008, 03:43:28 PM »

As others have mentioned the electric seat seem to have a habit of sticking etc., also being leather they are hot and sweaty, or cold and slippery.  So, I was wondering if anyone has fitted front seats from another car into the Jeep.

Looking about in the scrappies there seems to be plenty of choice, most modernish cars have good bucket seats.

I know that the Peugeot 205 GTi was a favourite swap into a Landy.  Anything similar for a Jeep. 8)

If you want a straight swap, get cloth ones from a Cherokee Sport. Otherwise you'll struggle to find something unless you modify the subframes. If you look you will see the transmission tunnel is huge and the floorpan very narrow, making it difficult to fit anything that isn't made to measure in there. I have a pair of rally seats in mine fitted to the original Jeep subframes via some welded in brackets.

Thanks for that.  I had pretty much thought the same, but you never know.
