just finished 2inch bb

Hi folks not been on here for a while but thought i would come on a few months back and it started me playing with the jeep again.
Just finished a 2 inch budget boost with the help of posts on here but wanted to know if there is any special measurments for wheel alignment now i have a 2 inch lift or is it just standard as shes booked in for alignment on friday morning.
also i have noticed that there is crap in the shocker socks would it be ok to remove them and run her without them?
Have included a few pics with lift done

Two schools of thought on this one - 1) Leave them on as it stops the crap getting in there 2) Take them off, it stops the crap getting out.

I'm with the latter. My lift didn't even come with boots.

only took me a day not that hard to do front was a bit of a pig had to disconnect shocker and sway bar but apart from that quite easy, as for kit all i got was x4 2inch spacers as i had all ready installed rancho rs9000 shockers last year, got spacers off ebay.
ride feels ok not been far yet, wanted to get alignment done first but will find out this weekend as were up to the static caravan in silverdale and may even try it off road on a easy route i know near newby bridge

ive just finnshed my grand.  befor i even took it to the mottist today i fitted a 2inch budged boost an i set of 31 allterrains. it looks ace. ill get a pic up once it comes back.

i think you'd get away with a set of 30's but if you go to 31's then you'll have to trim the front bumper,  to get mine to flex a bit off road im gonna have to trim some more as its going to bind!!!

wazza how did you find it to fit and what did you do on the rear with regards to the spring post im still a bit unsure as to how much  of the post you have left showing but installed it anyway, should'nt be a problem not in to severe off roading

evening kitch, howe you doing???

it wasn't to bad to install, the back end was easy. - undid the shock mount and anti-roll bar, an just pushed the springs back in place!
im not happy either with the lack of spring post showing (about 1/4 inch)

i think it'll be alright as with the anti roll bar an shocks, there isn't enough flex on the back to alow dislocation.

mine's maily going to be a tow machine but it will see light froading an green laining so i shall find out about the back springs! i read through one of the forums you posted up an liked the idea of what the bloke did with the exhaust tube!

the front was a twat to do, as i didn't have a spring compressor to hand.
again undid the anti-roll bar and shock  shoved in the spacer an squeased in the springs with the help of another forklift :lol: )

Hi Kitch, nice looking GC  8-)

I agree with wazza, 30" tyres if you don't want to touch any bodywork. I put 31" AT's on with a 2" BB and had to trim bottom rear edge of the front bumper. I also had to adjust my steering stops as they rubbed on the control arms.

Having said that, 31's look better, the GC is a fairly big motor

like said befor its got a 2inch budget boost an a set of bfg 31inch all terrains that are as good as new.

kitch now its your decission wether you want 30's or 31's :lol:
