Sunday 5th October – Charity Blackpool Run

Outline details – meet outskirts of Blackpool around noon – drive in convoy from south to north shore along the promenade finishing near North Pier in front of Blackpool Tower we expect to obtain permission to drive on the beach (sorry photos shoot only on the beach)

You will then be able to park up around the cenotaph area and display your Jeeps and take some time out in Blackpool
Throughout this event we want to raise money for the http://www.jeansforgenes.com and personalising our event under the banner “Jeep for Genes”

To be confirmed:  Meet on the Tesco car park (at the end of the M55) at 12.00 to 12.30, on Sunday 5th October.

An update:

Hi all

Firstly apologies for lateness of the final details and confirmation of our Blackpool run – there has been several issues to sort with Blackpool County Council at the eleventh hour

I would personally like to thank Patrick from Specialist Leisure – If Patrick had not taken action today the Blackpool run would not be happening!! ...Thanks Patrick

We will be meeting between 11.30 and noon at the end of the M55 (Nr Booker Cash and Carry on Brunel Way) ... 19226&z=16> leaving in convoy around 12.15

Timings for photo shoot and display subject to tides and will advise on Sunday morning

We will have a procession along the “lights run” and park up Princess Parade near the Metropole Hotel (there will be marshals staying with the parked Jeeps – if you want to have wonder around the sights)

It is at this point we have be granted access to the beach - Access to the beach is only granted for the purpose of taking the photos

SORRY NO “PLAYING” ON THE BEACH WITH JEEPS – NO EXCEPTIONS!!.. Beach Patrol and the Police will be patrolling.
Towards the end of the day (5.00 ish) we will move on to the “Air balloon” pub at Blackpool Airport for refreshment, those who want to stay later and drive through the lights at night. The best direction to do the lights it has been suggested to head north using the back streets and then go south along the front to view the lights. Traffic always flows easier than south to north direction and it takes about 15-20 mins to do the full length normally.

A reply / post would be appreciated if you are hoping to attend – approximate numbers in advance would be helpful for marshalling and convoy info for the authorities
