Cherokee Speakers (Amplified Infinity System)
« on: June 25, 2008, 10:48:48 PM »

98 Cherokee Limited with (factory) Chrysler head-unit and Infinity amplified speaker system:

Rear boot ceiling mount speaker blown - any suggestions for replacements? Are the rear speakers amplified or is just the fronts (the door speakers a labelled 'Infinity').

The boot speakers look like typical cheap factory fit (having pulled the grills off - cardboard single driver) so I guess anything would be better than nothing?

Cheers

I asked on here a whiel ago and I think they are 6.5s.  As to whether they are Infinity I don't know.

I've bought a new head unit which will control my Ipod.  I don't think I can use the Infinity amp so I'm re-wiring the lot.

6 or 6.5 speakers should fit. The standards probably are Infinity, just cheap ones. I replaced my front ones and they were just cheapo paper/card ones.

My new head unit uses the stock Infinity amp fine, the amp runs from speaker-level inputs which are the same from any head unit. Just plug your new unit in.
