got a bit of rear axle end float on the xj. left had wheel and the play is alot. what's the easiest way to sort this out ?
given that the axle is just a push in and retained by a c clip are there any shims etc that need to be installed/where ?

thanks for that, no up and down just in and out, what's an acceptable in and out movement. still source a new bearing and seal ready for fitment at some point

FYI, I had 1/4in end float when I fitted a Truetrac, so much so it failed the MOT. Had to thicken up the floating spacer to sort it.
