« on: January 01, 2009, 03:01:09 PM »

hi all, just joined up and have a prob. i got a 2000 model 3.1td grand cherokee which has started fine on cold mornings until 2 days ago. it usually takes 2 shots of heat and its fine but it wont start properly now. its turning over for ages wiyhout any kick at all but the fuel must be getting through cos thre is plenty of diesel smoke coming out,. it starts after about 20 mins of trying but once its running i can switch it off and it'll start fine for rest of the day. it had new heat plugs just before i got it. thanks for any help you can offer.

Any motor factors will get them for you. I paid 11 quid each 2 years ago.
You may not need all five. Test them with an ohmmeter. They should be 1 or 2 ohms, else replace it.

Mansfield 4x4 do them for about 6 quid each on Ebay.
