2.5td 1999 XJ
The Bride gets in it this morning and click click click goes the starter, I just put it in gear and rock it a little and then the starter clicks in fine and away she goes. This is repeated again at the school.
Is this likely to be the clutch on the starter or something else?

Only downside for you is that seem to recall diesel starters being a bit awkward to remove.I await to be corrected,but thats what i remember from past threads

you got that right Tank, they are simple to remove but you have to take the right hand engine mount off to make it easier.
