The Mahindra cj's have diesels as standard with the peugeot xdp engines and 2.1 as standard in most with some 2.5 and later models a 1.9.

Our Toad has recently fitted a nissan patrol 3.3 diesel into his

I've seen a yj with a 3.0litre iveco engine. An italian from london had fitted it, he was very passionate about it. The petrol engine is shiiitee, his words not mine.
If my v8 ever breaks a diesel is going in it's place, a big beast of a diesel.I don't know much about engine swopping but I was hoping that one of these big yankee diesels might bolt straight up to the box.

Hmmm......there has been an Isuzu engined deisel CJ on ebay at some point this year if I remember rightly.....

Diesel CJ's are also very popular in France (renault diesel). I always buy Jeep magazines when I go over and there are always some for sale...there is an '83 on French ebay at the moment for about £700 but no great description.....I might get one if I move to France (which is quite likely in the next couple of years)

also found this....3lt Merc engine.....

probably quite handy!!
