Dana44 Spring Perches
« on: February 11, 2009, 10:26:10 PM »

Okay studying the TJ and the back end now sits level were as it used to be slightly higher than the front.  Looking at the coil springs they are at quite a curve when at rest due to the rotated axle to create  to correct the pinion angle for the 4" lift.  I was wondering if anyone has rotated their spring perches and how much of a job it was.  Also would you need to actually remove the perch or could you get away with cutting the existing one bending it up to the required position and welding in new sides to hold the perch at the modified angle.

This is not a project for the immediate future as the Austin 7 chassis is in the way at the moment so I can't get the Jeep in the Workshop.

Cheers
Nick
