'98 GC tyre question

Hi all, I'm new to the forum & wondered if anyone could tell me what is the best A/T tyre size to go for on my '98 Grand Cherokee?

It's currently running 225/70/16's which are getting ready to be replaced, I'd like to step the size up a bit as I find they look a bit 'puny' in the wheel arches.

I don't want to lift the Jeep at this time, so what can I go for with stock suspension without getting major issues?

I've been offered a set of 235/85/16 BFG's which 'look' ideal but don't want to commit if they aren't going to fit!!!

Hi Jakester

Welcome to Birties,  8-)

235/85r16 are about 32" diameter and are too big for a standard ZJ, you'll need at least 4" lift for them plus your gearing on road will be crap. 30" will fit ok without issue as long as you don't go to wide. Something like 235/75r16 or 245/70r16 are around that size.
