Just to finish this thread, I went for the new Cooper Discoverer STT. I am well impressed. They were awesome at Ribbo at the weekend, cleared really well and seemed to give great traction. on road they don't seem much noisier than my General Grabber AT2s and they don't seem too bad in the wet although I have noticed a difference in braking differences.

They were £85 each all in from Nene Valley 4x4.

Just an aside comment.... Watch the speed rating on remoulds... you can end up without insurance if you are not careful as you will have incorrect rated tyres for your beast.... If you do fit different speed rated tyres, I would suggest telling your insurance... they probably won't realise, but at least they won't be able to refuse to pay out :D

watch the speed rating on MTR's they are below the top speed of an XJ, same rating as the colways
