The heater control on my TJ will move to hot no probs but when returned to cold the cable just goes slack and I have to move the flap under the dash by hand. Is it:
a. A duff cable which requires replacing?
b. A badly adjusted cable?
c. A duff flap spring (I couldn't see a spring)?
Some idea before I have to remove the dash completely
would be greatly appreciated.

Strange this
Just tried replying to an identical post on Jeep Club and the site crashed
Anyroad Woody reckon its a cable issue from consulting my trusty Haynes manual possibly snagged think you need to look under ther dash

with a little manual assist the cable moves, so possibly a kink, will check.

I'll either take dash off or passenger seat out which will give me room to move.

Careful there are those on this site who may hint at the 'large' word
