You can get the small arc welder setups that connect to your battery (both batteries if you got 'em). They are supposed to work OK.

Great setup.


Most of the "real" underhood welders require a swap in of a much stronger alternator, usually 220 amps or up. They can cost MONEY!!  But if you were going to get one of those. I'd recommend the Premier Welder. Can run MIG or ARC, and has a useful 110v outlet on it.

i have this in my wrangler in place of the passenger air bag alternatively there is a mounting bracket at kilby enterprises for under the bonnet.

If you can find an alternator with an external regulator, remove the regulator and you have 110V usually :) then you just need wires...

Or... 2 - 3 heavy duty batteries in parallel and a fine arc stick and that'll do it too....

I'll try to find the site where I found the write ups on it...
