this how I do it tom TJ wrangler
remove bottom radiator hose where it connects to the radiator and let drain. (much easier than drain plug in engine block)
remove coolant temp sensor from the stat housing
flush radiator with a garden hose via the radiator filler neck and the engine block via the sensor hole
reconnect bottm hose and refill radiator until a trickle flows out from the sensor hole in order to burp out any trapped air in the head.
refit temp sensor and top up radiator. also squeeze top hose so that any entrapped air is squeezed out

There is a drain plug on the bottom of the radiator but is easier to drop off the bottom hose and this allows the block to be flushed out easier and more thorough (at least on a TJ) and the sensor is on the stat housing
