take your old shocks off and measure the length open and closed, you will need shocks that are 2" longer when open and as close to same when closed.

never seen a shock drop kit as would sort of defeat the object as you are trying to achieve greater travel.

In considering a JK, I have looked at the cheap lift kits, which consist of spring and shock spacers.

It's true you don't get the extra 2" articulation, but you do get the lift.  Since the JK would be my daily driver, I will not be too concerned about hard core offroading (maybe later).  My only concern is spacers seem to affect road handling more than full suspension replacement.

Also, all the lift kits I have seen for the JK are for the petrol model (diesel model not available in USA), so at least I would be using the suspension designed for the heavier diesel engine.

i have done the suspension lift to get the 31's sahara's muds on from my last truck

mostly will be doing greenlaning and odd pay and play site nothing to extreme and then as a part time commuter

but just worried that as i have lifted the springs that i may be overly stressing the shocks which is why i am thinking extended shocks

cheers
