I wonder if any of you lot can help me out, I have a few 'other' diffs lying about in my garage. I would like to know, if you know from the numbers pictured what rings and pinion they are.
So here they are:[attachment=1][attachment=2][attachment=3][attachment=4][attachment=5][attachment=6]

The two pairs of numbers at the end of the sequence on both the ring gear and pinion are the number of teeth on ring and pinion set. Divide the higher number by the lower to give the ratio. E.g. 41/11=3.73:1. The ring and pinion are machined as a matched pair and have matching serial numbers. Thry should not be interchanged, even with another part with the correct ratio.

Thankyou Mike, valuable information,
so is it ok then to fit my un damaged ( to my eye) ring that was/is on my arb in the front diff, to the open diff carrier as seen in pic 3, as the pinion that is still in the axle is its matched one. all until i can get a 'new' axle built up with arb ( i don't see much point in doing it twice)
How can one tell if the open diff will be ok for a 4.56 ring?
