Hi, bought some  Bergen tools yesterday,  been thinking of getting bergen for a while  a Friend has some and he's had good service from them,   i bought proper bergen not Chinese copy's    all stamped and very nice quality, the tin box the torx skt's are in is solid quality.    the 1/2 ratchet is very nice super chromed  would recomend to anyone.........

When I started on Blue I got myself a Teng full socket set + hex/torx/bits/bobs & younamit

Good stuff, cant fault it.

best advice I ever got was from my old man,

he told me to buy a cheap set of tools and when you break something replace it with the best you can afford, logic being if you don't break it then you probably don't need it that much so why spend loads on it

agree with NB on the tools front, buy cheap and if you break it then pay more for a quality item.

I prefer the Facom but prices are a tad steep.
old snap are good the new ones are now made to a price in the far east.
Teng used to work with these and they break so where i worked they got called Ting.
Halfrauds professional are seriously worth considering, not broke anything of theirs yet.

Got to agree.  I've been impressed with the Halfords Pro stuff I've ended up buying.

Their pro ratchet sets are a must, however I have a full set of their ratchet spanners and have had to replace the 10mm, 13mm and 17mm and as they are on a lifetime warranty I thought it would be a piece of piss especially as they have Halfords Professional  stamped on the side of them but Oh no, you have to have the receipt to prove that you bought them from Halfords, you know the carbon paper one that degrades over time.... when I told them that the tool was clearly stamped with Halfords, the twat replied that they must see the receipt or they can't prove it was bought at Halfords ffs!

i have a mix of snapon britool and kamasa and some no name just for being cruel to and a smidge of sykes pickavant apex and hallfords pro

i must say as a person who remembers when hallfards tool were crap that they are rather super now for the price

the best investment i ever made was in a 'pand' shop in plymouth, I bought a set of 5 ring/open spanners for a pand with the view that if i broke them, then so what, that was in 98, guess what, I still have them now

Never had that problem been back a couple of times to Halfrauds with the racket spanners replaced them no probs
