Wheel Nut Question
« on: June 15, 2012, 01:47:36 PM »

As you know I have changed the alloys on the XJ to steels.

Am I ok using the same wheel nuts, they have gone on fine and are nice and tight?

Just wanted to check.

Ta.

If you are using the Jeep wheel nuts, which are tapered, then you will be fine.

Yes they are the original Jeep nuts, just wanted to check I didnt need open ended ones incase the steels were considerably thinner that the alloy.

With Jeep providing steel and alloys across their range, it made sense for them just to supply one type which is suitable for both sets.

I have many many McGard spares. Older ones I had started peeling chrome and I decided I wanted quality nuts. It was as cheap to buy 100 in the US than buy 20 in the UK! Bonkers.

 :iagree:

Got a couple of sets of "new take off" parts from USA Ebay, sooo much cheaper than buying a set of 5 from Jeep over here.

Exactly like them :icon_biggrin:

As I said got 4 covers, 3 good and 1 not so good locking bit, (if it's really tightened up its a bitch)
1 unlocking key and the yellow bit of plastic that grips and removes the covers.

Cost?

Postage to IOM that' s all

Happy wheel security :icon_biggrin: :icon_super:
