Hi everyone I have an 02 grand Cherokee 2.7 crd and it seems to have gone into limp mode it is not changing gears as it should and the engine seems louder anyway it is not running as it should also the engine management light has come on at the same time as this occurred can anyone tell me what I should be doing and checking to sort this problem out I have reasonable mechanical skills and would like to fix this myself if possible or is it doomed Chris

See if you can try to extract some fault codes first.  key 5 x on off (without starting) then read fault codes in digital odometer.

We then have a better grasp of what is going on.
