I'd like to come along, what do i have to do? Just turn up or is there some way of registering. Will probably bring a mate in a backup vehicle, it'll be the furthest my CJ has travelled since i bought it in 1998!

You can turn up and pay on the day. Most people camp from Friday to Sunday. Toilets and running water on site, bring your own tucker and drink and enjoy the weekend :)

I always thought if a car has no t&t it has to go on a trailer ie- it's tyres can't touch the road, not sure, I might be wrong????

correct, if it has no t&t then no tyres should be on the road. so even a spectacle rigs ruled out too. A frames are a grey area too seeing as the car behind becomes an unbraked trailer and even with jeeps impressive limits rules them out but then ive never been troubled using a frames but that's probably more to do with less cops who know their jobs being on the road these days.

I don't believe unbraked dolleys are allowed at all anymore, I think a braked one is ok though? As for A-frames, I have no idea!

I'm hoping to attend this with the Wrangler. Need to try and fix my leak and it should be up for some beasting around the place

Being very new to this off road lark, and birtys,  i have some questions,
what's the format to the weekend ? Or is there not ??
Will a complete newbie be ok ?
Is it just turn up and get on with it ?

Sorry for questions, i've read all posts but can't find much

Nothing too formal, generally the site is open for a free drive around from about 0900-1800 Saturday and a bit less Sunday. There's some organised stuff like trials sections, punches to find and drive to, a night drive and maybe more.

Turn up Friday for camping and a social, Saturday am or Sunday am.

Others may add more.

This event is ideal for newbies.

Plenty of people on hand to show you the ropes, Birty's is not very formal full stop but no one behaves like a muppet so dont worry about scrap yard specials being hooned around, that is not tolerated  :icon_winkle:

Feel free to turn up at anytime, we dont bite too much  :003:  :icon_jook:

I will be A Framing the XJ over, same as I did to the last event.

Not had any issues using it in the past whether for the Jeep or other things.

correct, if it has no t&t then no tyres should be on the road. so even a spectacle rigs ruled out too. What we really need is jay to rear end a cop car whilst A framing his jeep to get a clear outcome on the issue

You'll be fine, half the coppers don't know the law on it anyway..

The best way is to do what i did,and buy an A-frame that has the braking attachment part,no questions at all then.

Tank has an A frame

And very useful it is too!
Tank got me massively out of the shit at CF 2011 after Rent-a-Cunt fucked me over and refused to recover me home
Cheers Tank :icon_super:

I'm hoping to be there, but only as a speckled 'tater (we're only here for the beer :003:). The YJ definately won't be as it's not turned a wheel for a year and needs TLC/tax/mot/insurance before it goes anywhere.
The question is, how far round will a standard Toyota Celica get? :017:
