Brake disc confusion TJ
« on: May 24, 2013, 08:14:37 PM »

Doing a full service on the brakes soon and noticed the discs might as well be changed too. I've heard that there are a few different dimensions and I know I could measure them but its pissing it down, do the following dims sound correct for a 97 TJ.

Height: 81,5 mm, Brake Disc Type: Internally Vented, Br. Disc Thickness: 24.0 mm, Min. thickness: 22,7 mm, Outer Diameter: 280 mm, Num. of holes: 5, Centering Diameter: 72 mm

Didn't Gaz have a problem where there was a change in the thickness due to a change from one year to another?

i believe that the change was in 1999 or so - changed from composite to "one piece"?

My T reg jeep turned out to be the earlier composite type. (only needed to know for the hub type I think from memory.

I still have the discs in a pile by the shed - yours for free if you want them
