just got back from langley with the lads from hull4x4 . a right eye opener

Could be the oil pressure switch faulty - very common. Doesn't explain smoke though.

I believe clean white smoke is water.
If it was the turbo i.e. bearing, seals or shaft oil would be getting past and the smoke would have a blue tinge to it.

o it can be oil you guys never seen a diesel running on its own sump oil after its been turned off and the keys took out if twas water you would be getting drips out of the suast and if you held ya hand by it ya hand would get damp but hey its a vm so it would be overheating like a bastard i rekon change the o p sender and moniter the oil is there a chance she got a gulp of water to do the rings on a piston

it was a real real wet day rained for hours mud up to the eyeballs,
truck got a right soaking
oil pressure dropped after a long steep descent

bit lumpy . starting also feels different
there was a loss of power when leaving site , a noise like a slipping belt
noise stopped , power returned

Could've ingested a bit of water and squashed a conrod. This could cause rough idle, white smoke. Get a compression test done.

yup tried him earlier ... calling again tommorrow
spoke to a few people about it now ,
most mechanics make that expensive sucking sound..
just hope its not too expensive
anybody know what the thread is for the oil pressure sender is
?

let everything dry out
cleaned out air box
cleaned up connections on sender unit .
pressure up to 4 on starting slowly drops down when getting warm..
smoke worse
and
water out exhaust
