From what I understand the DW is caused by the wrong caster angle due to the front axle having to be rotated as part of the lifting process.
If the caster angle cannot be changed without strain on the linkages to the TC you can get a kit to drop the TC down which will reduce the angle the axle needs to be rotated.
This is from my newbie understanding so may be a little wrong, but I'm sure the MUCh more knowledgable folk will be along soon

death wobble.....fu*k it has happened to me very scary moment....my answer was to do the tracking rotate the tyres and change to a heavy duty steering damper....hey presto all good from that point.

the tj in question also had a 4"inch lift and 33"inch tyres.

things are pointing to the track bar just now. tyres are brand new and just put on a heavy BDS steerin damper.
but might still have to beef up the damper more. only thing is how do you protect it ??

Surely by putting a bigger damper on all your doing is covering up a problem not curing it?

when thae rear propshaft is disconnected it dissapears aswell

Are you still running stock lower arms? if so you will lose a lot of your caster angle.

Are they presses steel jobs, or tubular?

Pressed steel are stock, tubular aftermarket. :wink:

As for steering stabilisers; as far as I know, the stock one should be fine up to 33" tyres if everything else is OK.

he is running matched LCA's for the 4.5" lift and castor correction bolts, i spoke to the guys that did the tracking and mentioned the bolts......... just got blank looks. id take it to automotive services and get Job or Pat to do the castor properly.

Hey thanks for the reply scottjeeps. just spoke bat fastard and he says the same about these lower arm things.

GOOD NEWS. just got back from the garage fourth auto in dunfermline and all seems fixed

1. uj`s` on the rear prop shaft completely fucked
2. bolts loose on tracking arm

there is another part he is not happy with but wants me to try it this weekend first. dont know what its called though.. sorry im a fuckwit when it comes to jeep`s anatomy

You know as well as I do that his gangle pin has slipped from the foo foo valve, and needs to be replaced with a new pin and an extra big dollop of BS.
Must have been all that spinning about as in the avatar that caused it. :magnify:

where the drag link is attached to the pitman arm has a bit of extra play.

the hole has been ovaled out when the suspension was lifted the first time.

may have to fix that up somehow.

love greasin nipples . just cant ever see them for the mud

scared of water though jumped in the pool once with arm bands round my ankles.

OK Greased ma nips, but could not find strawberry grease as advised.
I had to use regular, apparently Halfrauds don't stock flavoured grease.

I had to dig the nips out of the caked on mud.
While under there I checked my rear shock bushes, I knew they were a bit dodgy. They are well gubbed...... another job for the list.

Jeeps are phun.

I'm sure regular lithium based would do the job just as well............just don't taste as nice!!!
