Hi all i do hope some one can please help me.

I have a 2003 jeep grand Cherokee with the 2.7 diesel merc engine. With the engine running after about 30 seconds It is leaking diesel out of a small pipe which looks like it comes off the back of the engine somewhere at the top. The pipe is an open ended pipe which runs down and secured to the rear of the engine and just finishes above the starter motor and the fuel just drips out of the open pipe onto the starter motor then on to the ground. The pipe doesn't go into anything its merley some kind of drain off pipe. There is no other leak as its bone dry on the top and around the injectors. My initial thoughts was the leak off pipe that runs along the top of the injectors or the fuel pressure regulator valve at the end of the common rail but these pipes simpley go back into the engine unless there is something else at the back of the engine. Ive had the RAC breakdown out but they had no idea what the pipe was and ive spoken to the jeep garage who are also a little baffled as there are no other visable leaks. I contacted the mercedes garage who were not helpful in the slightest as they refused to talk technical with me but the only thing they said was that there is a leak off pipe at the back of the engine but not sure if they meant the one coming off the injectors which goes back inside.there is no lack of power and no issues in starting. Ive recently serviced it including changing a leaking fuel injector for a reconditioned one. I am at my wits end so hopefully some one out there can help me before the car goes into a jeep garage where ill need another mortgage to pay the bill.

 I've sorted it, i ended up taking car into the garage and was expecting a massive bill. it only cost me 1 hours labour. turns out it was the new injector i put in, even though i tightened up the fuel pipe from the common rail to the injector, the union on the injector body which the pipe screws on to was loose and dripped fuel out of the injector which then ran along the top of the engine because the engine slants backwards and then down this pipe which acts as a drain pipe from anything on top of the engine letting it run off on to the ground. so both myself, a mechanic and the RAC guy could not find this blooming leak. it was impossible to see the trickle of fuel running along the top of the engine. for something so easy it was such a pain.
