Transfer case
« on: June 23, 2014, 03:44:36 PM »

 Hi

OK lifted my 1998 ZJ 2" to accommodate slightly larger tyres and slightly larger grin. One problem I have is - it seems to clunk / bunny hop when doing tight slow speed turns, am I right in thinking this is the transfer case on it's way out? If so could I simply avoid doing tight turns until I get a chance to sort it out? How long have I got? How difficult and what sort of costs are involved to do it at home myself?

Lastly is it normal for jeep owners to constantly think it needs bigger wheels and then, when you get think it needs bigger wheels and then, when you get them th.....

Any help advice would be really helpful, still quiet new to jeeps, thanks Steve.

Its the viscous coupling in the TC take the front prop off and drive around like that til you need 4wd or fix it .

And wheel envy is normal for all offroaders

I keep looking at Atkinson the Unimog people and at their tyres......

Found a place that will make the rims(20" dia rims) for £80 a pop so big ags are now possible.....

I'll take those girlie small 44s off you Mr Henry.....not missing out AGAIN like on those 42s last year!! :jpshakehead:
