Hi everyone
I am still having battery drain issues with the S reg 4.0 litre cherokee I bought a month or two back. It's been in the garage and they can't seem to work out what the issue is. Alternator has been checked twice, fuses are identified and one of them is pulling 6.7amp but it serves a number of functions.
The current thought process is that the ECU could be at fault? any thoughts on this and if so any soloutions? I could try and buy an ECU from here or maybe from ebay but having called the dealers they werent very helpul in helping me identify which part it would need and didnt know if it would need any work to fit my vehicle.
Will any 1997 to 2001 ecu work or is it more specific than that? does anyone have one?
Also is there anyone in the Northeast with Jeep experience who you could recommend to help get this sorted as it is driving me nuts and I want to use the car rather than have it stood around lol :-)
I have thought about fitting a kill switch to just turn everything off however what bothers me is that the central locking etc wont work and it isnt really fixing the probelm. Has anyone else any ideas, contacts or ecu that could help me solve this??
Thanks
