Anybody recommend a CJ7 savvy workshop near Birmingham?
« on: August 07, 2015, 12:44:53 PM »

Hi Guys.

I need somebody to finish off a mostly done restoration of a 79 CJ7.

Anybody know anybody they can recommend?

(the nearer to Bromsgrove the better?)

Hi there. Thanks for your quick responses.

As regards what needs doing, its almost done...
Chassis, axles, brakes, transmission, steering, bodywork - tick.

Transmission oil cooler and Radiator - missing (but Lighthouse can provide...)
Exhaust - missing (A44 garage in Worcester maybe?)

Then the more difficult bits:
No accelerator pedal (!)  (or accelerator cable or carb linkage...)
Engine is fitted, but not finished (spark plugs missing, ancillaries not fitted, no belts) - so it might not work...

Also needs a new wiring loom.

So not a lot compared to what has been done, but a bit outside my knowledge and experience (eg I can manage fitting the radiator, but I don't know where to start on accelerator linkage and wiring...).

So I have dropped Bubba a PM - I hope he isn't too busy!

Rednal you say... fancy coming over for a cup of tea?
