Jump Packs
« on: February 24, 2016, 10:42:22 PM »

Evening,

I'm after a decent jump pack,

Capable of starting more than 2 litres, ideally able to start Jeeps and 2.5litre diesels.

Seems so many options and I haven't a clue what is what.

Been offered one of these new for £120

Cheers

Looking at the battery specs it's something similar to what we use at work (airport). They'll start aircraft tugs and airstart units which can have pretty big engines. I'll see what brand and spec ours are later if they still have the stickers on them.

£120 and £180 seem cheap for these. agree with Bubba on buying the one with the biggest output.

be aware of the charge and discharge process when new as if you dont follow could leave to a knackered starter pack.

the draper ones are crap, one of my old works bought 6 for starting test cars......they lasted less than a month before they all failed, went back to jump starting from the department hack vehicle

Just one surplus to requirements, new and unused.

Think I'll take the punt as its got a better output that others and I'm not up for spending more money just yet

I forgot to look at the jump packs at work yesterday. No brand name you'd recognise and not too much info on the packs themselves other than 12/24V 1100A. No mention of CCA or peak amps as in the info for the packs you linked so not easy to compare.
