Odd fluid leak?
« on: February 29, 2016, 05:52:51 PM »

Ok, slightly odd fluid leak on the TJ.

Passenger side, under wheel arch on top and down the side of the chassis rail around the area where there are the two steel brake lines, just rear of the shock tower.  Also some around the passenger side engine mount.

In thinking brake hard lines, but after cleaning it up, can't seem to make it repeat and leak.  Brake fluid level looks ok, not low.  Brake pedal is a bit spongy but brakes still lock up nicely. Could it just be I'm not building enough hydraulic pressure to repeat the leak?

Or any other ideas?

Looking at it, that's what's leading md to think the hard brake line has failed but I can't make it do it again.

To me, once you have a hole in a hydraulic system, the brake pedal is heading to the floor at some pace??

The clutch hydraulic line runs across the bottom of the bulkhead, and that looks like a plastic line of some sort.  Is that a lower pressure hydraulic system which could just gently leak over time?
