Hello. 2004 Grand Cherokee 2.7d Overland
I'm in need of help, please. The front prop shaft CV/UJ (transfer box end) CV bearing was on the way out so I had it replaced by my local garage. I supplied the part from eBay. It lasted less than 30 miles and failed!
I got another bearing from a different eBay supplier and helped the garage fit it. Drove it round the block a couple of miles and it was "warm". Drove home 6 miles and it was "warmer" - then drove 20 miles and it was "hot". Yesterday I managed an 88 mile trip, stopping every 15 or so miles, the bearing was "hot". Not too hot to touch but too hot to hold for longer than 20 seconds....
Is this normal? Will it "bed-in" and run cooler over time?
Pic attached of the failure......
Thanks in advance
