I'm afraid I can't help with your questions directly but I do have a working carb from an 81-84 CJ AMC 258 taking up space in the store if you want it for next to nothing???

Otherwise maybe look at ordering books from US suppliers such as Quadratec, 4WD Hardware, Summit Racing etc. Or you could post some pics up of the bits you have questions about.

If she is running right then you are most likely right. Blank them off and away you go. Who needs emissions kit on a CJ anyway?

I guess you've found  The Unofficial Guide to the Rochester Varajet II Carburetors page? Plenty of stuff there.

Hmm. Not that smart, evidently. Posting it in here seems to have tipped him over his transfer limit. Bugger.
Ok, go to google and search for "rochester 2se", then hit images. There are some exploded views and ports alabelled on the pics.

WOW you lot are good!!!!

have googled the carb and come up with some interesting docs just wanted to make sure i was right before fitting it

to give history I have 81 (GM) 151 cu engine and was told by ex father in law to 'take off that heavy awful carb and fit an su carb as it will run better'
This couldnt have been further from the truth but as my jeep has been sat for few years i've finally got the parts to finish mechanically and its been sent away for wleding and spraying hopefully within next few weeks so want it running perfect for next birty's outing.
Thought would be easier to fit original carb however obviously sorted fueld flow and return and vaccum etc but still have 5 open ends!!!

This is the final part of my plan (prior to fitting the 5.9v8 next winter when i save up a bit more!!!!)

cheers fr all the help its appreciatted

Djrr6, Mike Pavlin (Doc Mike), was trying to sell a Weber carb which I think was for a 151.

Dont know if he sold it or not, might be worth a PM.
