Anyone seen these before?
Looks a bit dubious to me, wonder if they do n e thing?
Apart from bugger the engine and blow the gaskets out!

these are the better ones. they do work by all accounts. not a supercharger on paper but it does offer a measurable power increase.

realistly all it does is to provide more air into the engine   if the ecu isn`t layed out for that the engine would run lean which will result in burning hot and piston meltdown or valve burnout will occure
also the lambda sensor will give up the will to sense due to the mixture beeing too lean unless you have a broadband sensor fitted inwhich the measuring range is extended

in diesels the effect will be minimal due to  beeing run on maximum air all the time anyway  ...so the real way to improve performance on a diesel is to give it more fuel not more air

Had a few discussions on the Impreza forum Scoobynet on these things.

Certainly on a turbo'd car the fan can't move enough air for the turbo to suck and actually reduces the air flow. On an N/A car I can't see it really making any difference either apart from obstructing airflow.

Years ago, I bought a car magazine (won't lower myself to admit which one ;) ) which had a 106 with one of these things and they claimed a 100hp at least! improvement and it cost £400 - yes £400 for a PC coller fan.

Rather amusing tongue in cheek thread on the subject here.

Turbonators, or 'Hiclone' as they're called here are a totally different product - worthy of a thread perhaps, but not electric superchargers.

Both electric superchargers and moreso hiclones have dubious credentials supported mainly by testimonials, which should always raise alarm bells.

These superchargers may work with very little high-revving engines, to give them some bottom end. I'd love to install one in my 1.3 Suzuki. But with our jeeps it will not give anything positive- at the bottom line we don't need more air since the torque is more than sufficient, while up high the air flow is so huge, that this SC will not be able to pressurize it at all.

In other words- forget it.

Oh yeah,  apologies.  In either case, I'd save the dosh for something I know is going to improve my jeep performance.

A new exhaust springs instantly to mind for me :)
