Dummies guide to swap hard top with soft top
« on: April 12, 2008, 01:44:51 AM »

Hi Jeepers,
After spending the last 3 years looking for a cheap BJ40 I bought myself a Wrangler YJ (1995). It is wearing it's hard top and the pervious owner kin dley gave me the soft top (frame included) and a bikini top. I have laid the soft top and the frame on my lawn and stared at it for a few hours but it is not making sense to me. Is there an idiots guide to taking off the hard top and fitting the frame and soft top? I have tried searching and keep coming up with article on putiing the soft top down and up or replacing the canvas on the frame.
Can someone please point me in the right direction before we run out of summer. Unfortunatly the Wrangler came with everything except the owners manual (none on ebay either at the moment)

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your time Mike. I did have a look at Bestop but could only find instructions on putting on and taking off the canvas. I am trying to figure out how the frame goes on.

Thanks again.

Whereabouts are you? I ask as there may be a Birty with a soft-topped YJ near by.
