Tie rod upgrade
«

1998 XJ with 4.5" RE lift and 33" tyres.
OK, I severely bent my tie rod today.
Given that as things bust I tend to upgrade them (where possible) to a HD replacement, what have people done to upgrade their steering componants.
All recommendations welcome

Thanks Dodster. I'm think I'm going to go with the Curries HD TR as it comes with HD TRE's included.
But what about upgrading the Drag Link? Finding an HD version for RHD XJ's looks impossible.
Or is a drag link upgrade not really worthwhile?

I couldnt find a complete RHD set up without some custom made stuff. I'm not sure about the drag link, i have not heard of one gettin bent up like the TR does.
Just a thought and I may be wrong but I'm sure i have read that the Currie has its own beefier TRE's which are not compatible with the stock tie rod so more expensive to replace and difficult to get hold of, if ever one should go..

Yes, Curries do have their own beefier TRE's which are only compatible with their TR's but as I go to the States probably four times a year I'll make sure that I stock up on them.
