Absolutely no rush at all, I have quite specific ideas but they are only ideas. Kind of semi-internal, semi external cage and justed wanted to know someone that might be able to do it. I have to do some body reinforcements first becaue it's a unibody on a Cherokee.
The only quote I have had was about £120 per 6m length and that was through an engineering company that I have contacts in.
What total length of tube would you expect to use on a Cherokee size cage with (probably) six body/frame mounting points (3 main hoops)??
oi hang on before ya run off
you aint pissin no one off mate. all is cool. it would be nice to see an external cage available for jeeps that dont cost an arm and a leg ya see. i am gona fab some stuff for mine soon and i know it will take time but its all good fun. i enjoy making stuff for the jeeps but sometimes it would be nice to see the stuff available at a fair price for those who cant make their own. get designing somethin mate cos i am sure there is a market.
Geoff we need members willing to make kit for those who can’t or don’t have time.True there’s a few on here who could build a rig from the tyres up, but I bet there’s a few who would have trouble fitting seat covers :-)
Having someone who can bend tube and fit it to a vehicles is actually quite a hard find! Just because some of us know what to use and have design ideas doesn't mean we can build a cage. I'd be happy to pay several hundred pounds + materials for a cage that had some of the design ideas I wanted. The last enquiry I made was for a front 'cage' (A+B pillars, external A and internal B - like a lot of Landrovers have) and it was £1200 +VAT. I'd like to have a 'fullsize' cage for that kind of money, something that would protect me and a lot of the body of the vehicle during a typical off road roll accident (i.e. not 300 mph, just a slow tumble, 3 at worst).
Ill have a look at a few landy pics, to get an idea of what youre after james.

If you really want to research cages for Jeeps then; http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/ is a good place to start
