So are you taking the knuckles and shafts from a front dana and grafting them onto the rear axle.
Have you bought a kit from the us, or are you using a different rear end, sounds like an interesting project, got any pics :-)

they are mogs so just bolting front axle parts to the rear axle, yup its that simple especialy since im hyro steer so just got to wack another ram on

Just finished new workshop (Planning thinks its a garage) next to house 11 mtrs by 6.5 mtrs in catholic or 35ft x 22ft meant be for all woodworking machines but keeping space so can get YJ in.
YJ project in progress next month: J20 axles, flat top knuckles with cross over steering, hydro assist, six inch extend to rear and maybe spring over with waggy springs to get 4 more inches length. Bead locks and 37 maxxis.
If I get done by summer then I've got a 383 small block to slot in front of the NV3500 with Dana 300 and Klune underdrive that I've been running for 18 months but that is a long way off a the moment. Will still run LPG.... oh yes...!

im just skimming the heads a little to get the compression ratio up, anyone know how much to skim stock heads to get 11:1 ish?

this should help

first work out what you have, then adjust for skim value to test if it will get desired result, if not try a diff skim amount, lot easier the doing job then trying to add metal back :lol:

if you take too much off then just increase the thickness of the head gasket or base gasket.

I'm building me an offroader!!!

Just started to tear down the XJ and plan to fabricate my own frame stiffeners, sliders and front bumper.

I keep planning to make my own but I've ended up dealing in handmade and collectable knives instead. One day I will but at the mo I have a little website and travel round to various shows in the summer with a selection of high quality cutlery. I also organise Knives-UK the only knife show in the UK. That I'm afraid keeps me more than busy enough to stop me making any knives especially now I own a Jeep as well :lol:

Yeah absolutley, Stu's agreat bloke. And if anyone here wants a "quality" knife give me a call and I'd be happy to offer some advice.
