QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS..PUTER FOR MY 93 YJ??
« on: November 07, 2008, 05:26:45 PM »

I know its a long shot but, I don't suppose anyone has an ECU(PCM) I could borrow that would fit my 93 YJ 4L petrol?  Just want to eliminate it or not before I splash out on a replacement. Anybody?? I'll obviously pay for the postage etc either way and if OWT goes wrong with it.

Do we have any names for reconditioning these on here? Thanks

I have a '91 XJ 4.0 one. They never go wrong though. What's the problem? Have you got any fault codes on yours?

Hi, awhile ago i posted about same problem, " too young to die",
I have had it to 2 electricians without success, its now at a local "Independent Jeep specialist" He's had it a while now. I rang him today to ask "was it ready". NO. He has had the HIS puter on and its saying all is well.

Originally i posted saying no check engine light. You said bulb, wiring or PCM.

A 4.0 XJ one 1991-1995 with the big single connector should run a YJ, although it will might throw up a couple of minor fault codes as it will be looking for an AW4 transmission controller and aircon relay. Should run ok though.

Have you tried going to Paul at Wizard Autocraft In Rotherham, He knows plenty about Jeeps and runs a 4lt XJ so he could try it whilst you were there.

Hi Mike, thanks for the "borrow" of the PCM. Took it for the guy to fit and its still the same won't start up. He's now saying it might just be a wire loose or summat. So, I'm in his hands until he gets round to it. "No money in this type of fault" he says. heyho..
