Detachable Tow plate for Asylums TJ
« on: November 10, 2008, 11:15:06 PM »

After many monster packing hours, before and after a froading weekend. Time for a trailer

So after some Grinder Fu and Metal Glue  This was the outcome.........

Detached (Unpainted) 40mm meduim box, nice transition fit into 50mm Heavy box. Welded and located onto the bumper.

Attached 3 points 16mm 8,8 bolts

Asylum, had a good idea where to place the electrics.

Nice one!

It looks strong enough. I hope you don’t need to open the back door once the trailer is fitted. :-)

Just a thought, did you consider lowering the pintle eye on the trailer or fitting a regular 50mm hitch?

Not an easy job with a sankey, would require choping the front off the A frame

The Sankey in the Photo, was a Drum brake model. Asylums Sankey has disc brakes and the Bradley unit is sat in the middle of the  A frame section. Approx 6" lower. So his trailer sits pretty level.

As to the issue with the Door, hopefully all that will be in the back of the Truck is Food and Beer.............
