well had me a bit of a problemo thurs night i was just burnnin of a imprezza turbo with the gt i was smokin the tyres and just dropped it in to fourth and bang no drive shit i did think i had sheered a drive shaft but could not see a thing wrong so i drove home the last mile
the gear box was moaning worse than ed about 4wd  so i got home had a think and went to take round the back to the workshop and bang no drive luckley lard had come over and was behind me so he just pushed the gt with his jeep round the back got under this time to see hole in the back of the transfer case BOLLOCKS

yes mate had a look around found it might be cheaper to try and buy a complete truck than just buy a gear box so thats what i did found one local on ebay put in a bid and won

did a few jobs on me scrambly today fixed the cb fixed the radio so i can have me some sweet country tunes
made a kickdown cable adjusted the bands in the auto and fixed me wheel swing out and modified some steps to work with the side pipes
now the next thing is to take out the 2.5 non turbo deisel and smashed gearbox out of the gt [ell heapo]  and the fit the new 2.8turbo deisel and new gearbox that is after ripping the e bay truck to bits

in ell heapo yes engine and gear box from a f50 the same gearbox is used in later daihatsues so i am fitting the later turbo unit that happened to have a brand new gearbox the original engine n box were from a 78ish and this one is an 89 and ell heapo is an 82 the daihatsu cost 360quid off e bay as complete running moter i drove it back to the ranch i hope to do a bit to it this weekend

Keep it going, I might have anewer motor but I dream of V8s and having a proper workshop to fab all sorts of redneck creations (no offence meant Bubba, I'm sure you understand).

I wanna hear about the old CJ repairs, this is my favourite thread.

Original reason I joined birty's is because none of the other clubs had much of a clue about CJ's, well that and a whole bunch of other reasons.

Good old Greggmo did the welding and the equally generous Bubba helped to sort out the running problems.Still not 100% but it seems to be improving as its run so we shall keep fingers crossed :wink:
