The old seal has the lip too, it goes around the glass area of the door. But is facing out not in. The new seal also has a second lip at the front side of the glass area - one facing in and one out like O<. I guess it's an "improved" seal or something...

I can’t really contribute too much to this other than here are some photos of my standard trim which seems to fit fine. I hope they help!

My old one looked more or less like the one in PtP's pics.

Has anyone seen something like that:

They are made by Crown and replace parts # 5017462AF and 5017463AF

Can anyone verify those numbers are correct for my TJ?

those are the numbers that crown have in their catalogue

but that seal just looks completely wrong, it might be worth emailing them and double checking.

All the bits and pieces I’ve had from Lighthouse branded Crown have been spot on, but I’ve never ordered door seals.

It looks like you have some sort of upgraded part for providing a tighter fit, but they obviously aren’t working properly for your TJ. I assume that all TJs from ’97 – ’06 have the same seals, so I don’t understand why yours aren’t fitting properly.

I'm confused myself, nobody else apparently had any problems...

I'm gonna ask people on the other side of the pond what they think.
