Clutch pedal....
« on: April 29, 2009, 09:50:59 PM »

Hi, i've noticed over the last month or so my clutch didn't feel right ( hard to get into first/ reverse,) but drives ok , the clutch is not slipping and plenty of bite, but started thinking of getting a new clutch and a strip down and investigate. Today i noticed my clutch pedal had a inch of play! if i lifted the pedal up from rest! and slightly lower at rest than the brake pedal,  So i removed the trim above the pedal cluster to have a better look, on inspection the pivot point on the clutch pedal lever and the clutch master cylinder arm was worn!! and causing the play, the eye in the m/c arm was the problem it had worn out to nearly twice the size!!  the eye overall had plenty of meat left on it so i started to look for a spacer, i found a brass nut drilled it out filed it to fit the worn eye in the m/c arm  fitted it all back together the pedal now sits were it should at rest and the gears are a lot better to engage.  i intend to get a new clutch m/c arm but couldn't ressist trying a fix!!  hope this helps anyone..........cya :-D
